Thanks to our many funders and donors, the Outward Bound Canada Indigenous Youth Leadership Program saw remarkable growth in 2024, reflecting the program’s increasing relevance to our mission, as well as the urgent need to support First Nations, Métis and Inuit youth.
This year, the program expanded its outreach and capacity, responding to the growing demand for Indigenous-led initiatives that promote cultural knowledge, healing, and youth empowerment to serve future generations. The urgency of this growth stems from the broader context of ongoing efforts toward Reconciliation in Canada, addressing historical injustices faced by Indigenous communities and supporting youth in reclaiming their heritage. The program emphasizes the value of land-based learning, which holds significant cultural importance and serves as a space for healing from intergenerational trauma.
